erskine award 2017

For the first time, the prestigious Erskine Award, which honors international architecture every three years, is awarded to Germany. In the solemn setting of the Swedish Architects' Chamber Architectural Gala in 2017, the Majesty Queen Silvia of Sweden presented the Erskine Award to the delegation of the Spinelli Project. Mayor of Mannheim, Lothar Quast, Tatjana Dürr, Prof. Stefan Krötsch, Prof. Andreas Kretzer, Sandra and Nele Gressung, Sascha Ritschel, Tobias Vogel, Arved Sartorius, and Tobias Kohlstruck traveled to Stockholm on behalf of the entire team to receive the award. The prize is endowed with $10,000.

recognition university awards

In the summer of 2016, a group of 18 architecture students from the Technical University of Kaiserslautern, together with 20 refugees and local craftsmen under the leadership of Professors Stefan Krötsch, Andreas Kretzer, and Jürgen Graf, designed and built a community center in the Spinelli refugee accommodation in Mannheim. For their outstanding commitment, the students were already honored with the "Studierende des Jahres 2017" award and other prizes. With the recognition at the 2017 Timber Construction University Prize, the special quality of architecture and construction in wood is now being acknowledged. We congratulate the students warmly on this award!

Startsocial Award 2011

startsocial e.V. has been promoting voluntary engagement in Germany since 2001. The goal is to support social initiatives sustainably with expertise from the business sector under the motto 'Help for Helpers.' Bauen für Orange Farm e.V. was able to participate in the startsocial 2011 competition as one of 100 selected projects in 2011. As part of a three-month consulting scholarship, our initiative was supported by coaches in planning and preparing for further development. Bauen für Orange Farm e.V. was included in the 25-project federal selection during the evaluation of the results of this phase.
